Here are your WG activities for this week, January 23-27. Our Boys basketball Tigers have their Osceola Tournament this week, so take a look at the bracket. There has been a change to the girls basketball schedule for this week. We will not be playing Chadwick at home on Tuesday. Instead we will be playing East Newton at BBC in Springfield at 6 pm. The Tigers will be playing in the 2023 Osceola Basketball Invitational Tournament January 24-28th. Their first round game will be Tuesday, January 24th at 9:00pm vs Lakeland. Let's go Tigers !!

The Walnut Grove R-V School Board is pleased to announce that Mr. Rory Henry has accepted their offer to become the next superintendent starting with the 2023-2024 school year. The Missouri School Board Association and consultant Dr. Bob Watkins supported the Board of Education’s search.
Originally from Wheatland, MO, Mr. Henry is currently the high school principal/activities director at Walnut Grove High School. He will be replacing Adam Willard who has accepted the Lathrop R-II superintendent position beginning July 1, 2023.
While accepting the offer, Mr. Henry stated, “Over the past 14 years, Walnut Grove has been a special place for my family and me. I’m honored and very excited to step into the superintendent role. The district has made a lot of progress over the years. I am committed to work with all stakeholders, move the district forward, and pursue excellence.”
Board President Jeremy Kelley said, “The board was pleased by the quality of the applicants and feels that Mr. Henry is going to be a great fit for our school district. Mr. Henry has been committed to the Walnut Grove R-V School District over the past 14 years in so many different ways. He has a passion for helping the students, staff, and community, which is evident in his style of leadership. The Board of Education looks forward to working with Mr. Henry in his new role as superintendent.”
Holiday Classic Update: Due to the impending weather this week, we have moved the start of the WG Holiday Classic games until after Christmas. The girls 1st game will be on 12/26 at 3 pm vs Hurley at Ash Grove. The boys 1st game will be on 12/26 at 1:30 pm at Morrisville. Here are your brackets for next week.
