Today we wrapped up another successful Holiday Classic. We had a great boys and girls tournament and there was some excellent basketball played. We want to thank everyone who helped to make this possible. Thank you to all of our sponsors. In particular, we would like to thank our title sponsor Morris Brothers Embroidery for providing all of the players T-shirts and coaches gifts and the Pitchfork Restaurant in Bolivar for providing the hospitality room. We would also like to thank anyone who helped work at the concession stand, score table, gate, or just helped out throughout the tournament. We cant wait to do it again next year!
The Lady Tiger basketball team is raffling off a Lazy Boy recliner from Harman’s Home Furnishings valued at $599. The raffle will be held at the championship of the boys tournament in December 31st. Tickets are $5 a piece or 5 for $20. If you are interested in buying a ticket please see a Lady Tiger basketball player or manager.
Attention parents of athletes- Booster club is in need of volunteers for concession stand help for holiday classic. Concessions are primary source of revenue and how we give back to our students in ALL sports not just basketball for items such as uniforms, equipment, and tourney fees. We are asking all parents of student Athletes to PLEASE volunteer for a game Games run all day 12/27, 12/28, 12/29. The Walnut Grove Holiday Classic basketball tournament will begin on Tuesday, 12/21/21 and run through Friday, 12/31/21. The tournament features 32 teams from around SW Missouri including our Tiger basketball teams. Come out and enjoy some great basketball and to cheer on your Tigers and Lady Tigers.

Friday, 12/17, will be an early release with school getting out at 12:30pm to begin our winter break. School will resume on January 4th, 2022. Happy Holidays !!

On Monday, December 6, 2021, Walnut Grove R-V School District was notified that two individuals at Walnut Grove Elementary have tested positive for COVID-19. Walnut Grove R-V has notified those who were indicated as having been in close contact with the COVID-19 individuals. Unless you were called by a school district official or the Polk County Health Department, your child has not been identified as a close contact. In order to respect and protect our students’ right to privacy and HIPAA rules, we will not disclose any other identifiable information about the individuals.

ATTENTION FORMER WALNUT GROVE GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS: The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is inducting the entire program coming up on Tuesday, Dec. 14 in Springfield. Every former player and coach in attendance will receive a plaque with their name engraved and also will be invited on stage, where the Hall of Fame will announce you by name for your due recognition.
The Hall of Fame also would like to mail invitations to each former player, and several players from different eras are reaching out for addresses. It’s with great excitement that we would like to announce the following news!! Our very own Walnut Grove Lady Tigers basketball program is being inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame!! The induction ceremony will take place at the Oasis Hotel & Convention Center in Springfield on December 14th, 2021, at 11:00am. There will be more information coming out in the coming days regarding the event. This is a great and well-deserved honor for the Lady Tiger program. Congratulations to all current and former Lady Tigers, coaches, managers, parents and the entire Walnut Grove community!
The boys and girls basketball teams will both be competing in the Morrisville Tournament from November 29th through December 4th. The boys team will be the #8 seed and will open vs. Ash Grove on Monday November 29th. The girls will be the #3 seed and will also open on November 29th vs. Bradleyville.
Every year students and community members bring in money to help local families have a better Christmas. The money helps purchase clothes, food, and presents for families in Walnut Grove. Please help us raise money to help these families!
