New Missouri Law for All Schools:
Missouri law (Senate Bill 68) requires all public schools in the state to restrict student use of personal electronic communication devices (such as cell phones, smart watches, earbuds etc) throughout the school day. Bell to Bell. This means students will keep their personal devices put away during the school day so they can fully engage in learning and social connections.
We understand electronics are a part of everyday life, so parents, please talk to your kids about this new law and prepare them for this change.

We’re excited to welcome Mr. Daegen Green to Walnut Grove Schools! Daegen will be completing his student teaching with us while also serving as the Junior High Girls Basketball Coach and Assistant High School Girls Basketball Coach. Coach Green brings energy, dedication, and a love for the game that we know will inspire our student-athletes both on and off the court. We're thrilled to have him join our Tiger family and can't wait to see the impact he’ll make this year! Let’s give him a warm Walnut Grove welcome!

The ROSE-RET Grant Project, a three-year initiative hosted by Missouri State University, provided high school educators with hands-on research experiences in computer science. Sandy Branstetter, High School Business Teacher, participated in Year 2 of the project, while Doug McDaniel, District Technology Coordinator, participated in Year 3. During their six-week summer sessions at MSU in Springfield, both educators engaged in in-depth learning and research in key areas of computer science, including computer programming, the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, and ethical hacking.
As a result of their participation, both Sandy and Doug have brought back a wealth of knowledge, curriculum resources, and practical applications to benefit students at Walnut Grove Schools. In addition to her hands-on experience, Sandy collaborated with two university professors and a fellow educator to co-author a scholarly article highlighting the project’s impact and the integration of computer science concepts into classroom instruction. Doug and his fellow Year 3 cohort members will continue meeting monthly throughout the school year to extend their learning and collaboration.
