The National Honor Society is a prestigious organization whose objectives are to “create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in the nation’s secondary school students.”

To be invited to apply for membership into the Walnut Grove High School Chapter of NHS, an applicant must have been a student in the district for one full academic year and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Once the student has been invited to apply, a student must complete and submit the NHS application and then be approved by a faculty committee at the high school. After the student has been accepted, a ceremony officially inducts the student into The National Honor Society.
